BuzzMob™ Secures $2 Million in Funding to Accelerate Product Development and Strategic Partnerships
BuzzMob™ crowd engagement platform to double-up on targeting events, brands and venues
IRVINE, Calif., Oct 16, 2012 — BuzzMob™ (www.buzzmob.com), a crowd engagement app and leader in fan technology, announced that it has secured $2 million in funding lead by Craig Cogut, founder and managing partner of Pegasus Capital Advisors.
The funding will allow BuzzMob to accelerate its focus on partnerships with event organizers, brands and venues, including stadiums and arenas, professional and collegiate sports, live music events and more.
“I believe there is a huge opportunity for BuzzMob to be the leading platform delivering real-time engagement at live events,” said Cogut. “Fans will soon get more for the price of a ticket. They’ll get curated content delivered to their smartphones while in their seats. It’s the future of live events. My investment in BuzzMob is a testament to how I expect live events to evolve, and how crowd engagement will play into that.”
BuzzMob delivers real-time mobile interaction at sporting events and concerts, along with other high traffic areas such as colleges, festivals and conventions. It connects on-site and virtual attendees, and delivers exclusive content curated for the event. BuzzMob’s quest to revolutionize the live event experience through mobile represents an opportunity for people, places and brands to build authentic, hyper-local connections.
“This latest investment will allow us to enhance partnership activities and expand our engineering resources to drive tailored offerings,” said Jeff Jackel, BuzzMob’s CEO. “We’ve focused this past year on developing innovative tools that can be customized for our venue and brand partners. Our primary focus moving forward is developing the right partnerships to showcase the latest and greatest in fan engagement.”
Most recently, BuzzMob partnered with comic book legend Stan Lee for his Comikaze Expo in Los Angeles. The partnership allowed event attendees to experience exclusive Comikaze Expo content such as contests, panel Q&A, time-and-triggered offers, and never-before seen fan interaction with celebrity participants.
Launched in 2011, BuzzMob was originally funded with a $600,000 angel round. BuzzMob’s mobile app is available for download on Apple iOS and Android. For partnership opportunities, please contact BuzzMob at firstname.lastname@example.org.
