  • 33Across Inc. Closes Seed Round Financing

    March 11th, 2008 No comments

33Across, a stealth-mode company developing revolutionary technology to identify influential online users, announced recently that it has closed a seed funding round led by First Round Capital. Other investors include Dave Morgan, the Founder of TACODA and former EVP Global Ad Strategy at AOL, and Shelby Bonnie, former CEO of CNET. The company will use the funding to further develop its proprietary influencer identification technology.

33Across is led by Eric Wheeler, former CEO of Neo@Ogilvy North America and President and co-founder of innovative digital agency Lot21. Co-founder Greg Levitt, former Director of Business Development at Yahoo! and an executive at 24/7 Real Media, is leading product development. “Marketers and publishers are having a difficult time unlocking the value of social media,” said Eric Wheeler, CEO of 33Across. “Our unique technology leverages multiple types of social media data to identify high-value influencers, and target messages to these users in a scaleable and repeatable way.”

“33Across is developing break-through technology which addresses the monetization challenge of the social web,” said Howard Morgan, partner at First Round Capital. “We are excited to be partnering with a team that has the vision and experience to create the first targeting solution endemic to social media.”

33Across Inc. was founded in September 2007 in New York City. The 33Across team is comprised of industry veterans from the digital media, advertising, and technology sectors.
